We are hiring a Design Director with Computer skills for our Home Walmart division. Experience in soft home, especially kitchen and/or bath products is a bonus but not required. This role will report to our Design Director and follow through with all products from concept to production. We are looking for a creative self starter with a good attitude and can easily work with others. This is a growing division with a lot of room for creativity and growth.
Duties
- Manage and work with designers on creating original CAD artwork using given direction for the following products but not limited to: Kitchen textiles, bath, rugs, throws, pet
- Ability to research trends, develop colorways and come up with original designs as needed.
- Produce quality tech packs in a timely manner based on direction given
- Create colorways of existing designs
- Manage and coordinate samples and textile library
- Track Shipments, organize documents and manage samples as needed
- Communicate with factories regarding product development issues
- Ability to understand and follow the calendar and meet deadlines efficiently
- work on initial costing and pricing with knowledge on how to adjust designs as needed to fit current targets
Qualifications/Requirements
- a degree in textile design with knowledge of fabrics
- Must be detail oriented and flexible
- 3-7 years experience in design
- ability to manage multiple projects with guidance from management
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong photoshop and illustrator skills
- knowledge of MS office suite
- Understanding of fabrics and soft home products
- PD knowledge a plus
