It is an exciting time to join the Systems Engineering and Integration Team at JRC. We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to develop software that aggregates data from multiple data sets for the Department of Defense (DoD). The Software Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the success of the software development project and will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions to complex technical challenges in a DoD environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in developing software that meets DoD requirements and specifications.

As a Software Engineer at JRC you will...

• Collaborate with project managers, system engineers, and stakeholders to define technical requirements for the software and ensure compliance with DoD standards and specifications.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software that aggregates data from multiple data sets while adhering to DoD software development standards.

• Create and maintain technical documentation related to the software development process, including requirements documentation, design documents, and user manuals.

• Ensure software solutions meet DoD security and information assurance standards.

• Conduct software testing and troubleshoot software issues.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and implement software solutions that meet project goals.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.

What you bring to the table...

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field

• 3+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on DoD software development

• Strong experience with database management and integration, particularly with SQL and NoSQL databases

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL

• Knowledge of DoD software development methodologies and project management tools

• Familiarity with DoD security and information assurance standards

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Bonus Points for...

• A Secret security clearance (or above) or recently held a clearance and remain in favorable status

• Working knowledge of data analytics and AI/ML

• Working knowledge of DoD DevSecOps concepts

• Working knowledge of DoD Cloud Computing concepts
