Please note: The Senior Digital Content Specialist will be an employee of Southwestern Health Resources (SWHR). SWHR is a clinically integrated network formed by Texas Health Resources (THR) and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW).
Work hours:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Monday - Friday, Day shift.
- This is a Hybrid position, requiring onsite workdays during the week, based on department business needs.
- Require travel, approximately 5%, to locations, within the Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding areas, based on department business needs.
- In-person attendance required at department meetings, trainings and/or other department authorized activities, at the above-mentioned address or other locations as directed by the department management.

Here’s What You Need
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Corporate Communications and Social Media or related field required.
Experience
- Require 3 years of experience in publishing web content, social media and email management.
- Prefer 1 year of experience in a health care organization.
Skills & Abilities
- Experience with content management systems such as Drupal, WordPress, and Brandfolder.
- Experienced in content management systems, online publishing.
- Knowledgeable in Google Analytics and Google AdWords.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to articulate messaging, resolve issues, define processes, etc., both orally and in writing.
- Experience with social media platforms, e.g., HooteSuite, Khoros, Sprout, Zoho.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience with project management tools, preferred (Wrike, Asana, others.)
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- Ability to analyze data.
- AP style competency required.
- Proficient in website editorial style and standards.
- Familiar with video platforms and editing, e.g., Vimeo.
- Familiarity of content practices such as SEO, SMO, and PPC.
- Experienced reporting and presentation skills.
What You Will Do
Position Responsibilities
As part of the Digital Marketing team in the Southwestern Health Resources Marketing and Communication (MarCom) department, the Senior Digital Content Specialist will utilize content management systems to publish engaging branded content onto the organization's websites and social channels. Additionally, this role will be responsible for updating and maintaining existing content across the sites. This position works closely with the MarCom Content Manager, and other team members, to coordinate website and other digital communication efforts.
Position Functions
Website Content Management and Publishing Manage new content updates and publishing across multiple content management platforms. Develop new pages, setup/configure information architecture and functionality components as well as load and update content and images:
- Provide recommendations for layout to maximize page conversion.
- Ensure UI consistency across all web pages.
- Eliminate duplicate content and maintain real-time site integrity.
- Ensure quality of content, efficiency of revision commitment window and site status by establishing and/or maintaining brand consistency within the site.
Work with other content stakeholders to coordinate content publishing onto the websites. As the last line of defense in delivering the message, this role will execute extreme diligence with the team to identify, continuously improve, optimize, and implement:
- Brand Guidelines.
- SEO/SEM best management practices.
- A/B Testing and analytics opportunities.
- Troubleshoot issues and communicate progress.
- Using project and proof management software to coordinate with other team members on multi-faceted projects and the department's editorial calendar.
Internal Communications Support.
- Support the execution and delivery of internal communications, e.g., employee communications through either an email platform or MS Teams applications.
Social Media.
- Works with Marcom team to develop and implement organizational social media content production calendar, increasing digital engagement.
- Maintain content, monitor performance, and help develop advertising strategies on digital media accounts.
- Checking social and digital accounts daily for alerts and mentions, responding accordingly. Connecting followers with appropriate internal stakeholders with courteous, informed, professional engagement.
- Develop and execute plans to increase quality followers and engagement based on paid and organic strategies and best practices.
- Monitor, listen and manage social activities and responses online.
- Develop and expand community outreach efforts.
- Maintain content, monitor performance, and help develop advertising strategies on digital media accounts.
- Checking social and digital accounts daily for alerts and mentions, responding accordingly. Connecting followers with appropriate internal stakeholders with courteous, informed, professional engagement.
- Develop and execute plans to increase quality followers and engagement based on paid and organic strategies and best practices.
- Monitor, listen and manage social activities and responses online.
- Develop and expand community outreach efforts.
Digital Marketing Analytics and Reporting.
- Analyze and produce reports for web, social and internal email analytics to be able to identify trends and provide insight to refine web content strategy and improve results.
