Purpose
To assist health care professionals with the delivery of patient care services and to perform clinical skills as orders by medical provide.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the evaluation and care of clinic and telehealth patients to be seen by UHS providers
- Exhibits professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional customer service in all aspects of work
- Maintains a level of knowledge conducive to providing high-quality patient care
- Performs department-specific procedures and treatments per UHS Policies and Procedures
- Assists RNs and LVNs with office nursing tasks specific to assigned department following UHS Policies and Procedures
- Maintains patient health records
- Actively participates in maintaining a safe and clean working environment
- Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance pattern
- Assists with supervisor of Clinic Volunteers
- Participates in holiday and weekend coverage on a rotating basis as needed
- Participates in other activities as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant Certification or Registration
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinic setting
- Experience serving as a liaison between the clinic manager and staff
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to build camaraderie and teamwork
- A professional demeanor
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including strong Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with an electronic medical record
- Ability to successfully work with a diverse community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- More than one year of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Experience serving as a liaison between the clinic manager and staff
- Experience onboarding and training new staff
- Exhibits initiative and self-direction in learning new skills and assuming new responsibilities
- Consistently prepared to begin work at the scheduled time and remains at work for the entire time
Salary Range
$45,650 per year
