Under general direction, plans and performs all technical aspects of angiograms and other related invasive procedures.

The Cardiovascular Interventional Radiologic Technologist (RT) or Cardiovascular Tech (CVT) assists in all procedures performed in the Cardiovascular Intervention Center and is a member of the Cath Lab team.
 

• Performs the radiological procedures at a technical level.
• Responsible for positioning the patient and fluoroscopic equipment as needed to obtain optimum views of all relevant anatomy during procedures.
• Provides a safe patient care environment, maintains and operates the physiological monitoring/recording system for both interventional cardiac and complex electrophysiology studies.
• Responsible for monitoring radiation exposure levels during all exams, and ensures that technical factors appropriate for the given procedure are utilized.
• Assists physicians by functioning as scrub tech or circulator, maintains film library, archives all digital images, and documents all actions taken by the Cath Lab team.
• Responsible for being able to set up and operate all interventional equipment within the department that may be required for a given procedure including but not limited to:
• Right and Left Heart Catheterization with dual transducer simultaneous intravascular pressures, Biopsies, Flow studies, Angioplasty, Stenting, Atherectomy, Valvuloplasty, Septostomy, ASD closure, PFO closure, Embolization, Structural cases, Trans-Septal Ablations, and Pacemakers. Responsible for observing all health and safety standards as required. Teach, train, and mentor staff as assigned.

Qualifications
 

• Valid CA State Certification License in Unlimited diagnostic radiology services
• CPR certification required
   

Preferred
 

• 2 years progressively more responsible experience in special procedures related program/job.
• Congenital heart experience.
• Arrhythmia recognition and hemodynamic monitoring skills.
   

Pay Range: $38.94 - $52.32

Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
