About the Role:

This is a remote volunteer role for a WordPress Developer with a minimum of 1.5+ years of hands-on WordPress experience. You will configure, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, including themes, plugins, and integrations. Day-to-day work includes building and refining front-end layouts, implementing responsive designs, optimizing site performance, and ensuring cross-browser compatibility. You will collaborate with team members to translate business requirements into technical solutions, troubleshoot issues, and maintain secure, scalable WordPress environments — contributing directly to improving San R&D's web presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, plugins, and integrations
  • Build and refine front-end layouts with responsive, cross-browser-compatible designs
  • Optimize site performance, page speed, and SEO
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, layout issues, and plugin conflicts
  • Maintain secure, scalable WordPress environments with routine updates and backups
  • Collaborate remotely with design, content, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions

Qualifications: (Must-Have)

  • Minimum 1.5+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining WordPress websites
  • Strong front-end development skills, including responsive and modern web design practices
  • Solid experience with WordPress configuration, customization, and deployment
  • Back-end WordPress skills: PHP, MySQL, and API integrations
  • Understanding of performance optimization, SEO best practices, and website security fundamentals
  • Familiarity with popular page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, or similar) and plugin ecosystems
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities remotely, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative workflows
  • Experience with WooCommerce
  • Basic design sense (Canva, Figma)

What's in for you:

  • Opportunity to work alongside senior leaders in a cross-functional, fast-paced setting.
  • Potential transition into a paid role or equity opportunity based on performance and company growth.
  • Certificate of recognition and professional references.
  • Freedom to experiment and contribute ideas to shape the company’s future

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Application Question(s):

  • Will you require any sponsorship for employment now, or in the future? (For eg, H1B visa)
  • Are you willing to work as a temporary volunteer for the organisation? (unpaid role)
  • Are you comfortable working remote?
