Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated full-stack web developer to join our growing team. You will be working with a hybrid team collaborating with in-house developers and third-party development teams to build, test, and deploy website improvements and web/mobile applications. If you have an eye for detail, pixel placement, and continuously seek improvements in overall user experience, we encourage you to apply. You should be able to gather requirements, collaborate with our designers, and ensure web applications are stable and high performing.

Responsibilities:

1. First point of contact for change requests and enhancements on ciat.edu and CIAT web properties including content updates, images, menu changes, digital assets, new page layouts, new features, and accessibility features
2. Build and customize the CIAT student web portal and mobile application based on marketing design requirements, IT infrastructure and security requirements, and ongoing student feedback
3. Deploy Microsoft Power Pages using Liquid to customize templates and content
4. Create responsive and interactive web pages that align with CIAT brand guidelines
5. Ensure all ciat.edu website pages and content remain editable in version control tools for collaborative team maintenance
6. Collaborate closely with our in-house and third-party development team members to triage, delegate, and test new web changes
7. Write clear, maintainable, thoroughly tested code with a focus on quality, security, and performance.
8. Gather project requirements outlined by department stakeholders and provide time estimates to scope web projects for implementation
9. Accurately implement design specifications and work collaboratively with the marketing team to optimize the user experience within time, budget, and business constraints
10. Monitor web analytics and real-time visitor monitoring tools to recommend improvements in web accessibility, functionality, or new feature deployment
11. Communicate effectively and professionally with internal teams and vendors.
12. Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to outline programmatic solutions for solving critical business challenges
13. Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in web/mobile application development. Continuously expand your knowledge and skills in programming techniques and tools
14. Adhere to CIAT’s compliance requirements to ensure all Federal, State, accreditation, and institutional policies and procedures are being met
15. Follow communication guidelines to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and professionalism

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in software development, web development, computer science, or related industry experience
2. 3+ years of web programming experience in professional business environments
3. 3+ years of experience with version control tools such as Git, to collaborate with a multi-person development team
4. 3+ years of experience with Visual Studio or comparable IDE tools
5. Demonstratable knowledge of web programming skills used in professional business environments including HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, Liquid templates, SQL, MySQL, SCSS/SASS, JSON, Python, Java, C#, .Net, and Swift
6. Demonstratable knowledge of web programming frameworks including Alpine.js, Angular, ASP.NET Core, Bootstrap, jQuery, React, Django, Express.js, Flask, Node.js, and Ruby on Rails
7. Demonstratable knowledge of Rest API connections and third-party API software integrations
8. Demonstratable knowledge building and maintaining mobile applications (iOS, Android)
9. Familiarity with website hosting requirements and with SSL certificate management
10. Familiarity with responsive web design, mobile compatibility, UI/UX best practices
11. Familiarity with SEO requirements and the impact of website performance, URL structures, and the impacts of compliance and search engine friendly code
12. Familiarity with Microsoft Power Pages preferred
13. Eagerness to learn and adapt to new web programming tools and methodologies
14. Strong organizational skills with the proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively in a fast faced environment
15. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey information and interact with students, colleagues, and others

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Salary Range

The salary range for the Web Developer is $80,000-$104,000 yearly/DOE . However, the expected starting salary for this position is $80,000-$90,000 yearly/DOE. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, experience, equity and other business and organizational needs.
