Job Description:

Currently located in Dallas Texas, this position provides functional application support, configuration and new process realization within our Supply Chain and Parcel Shipping Applications. This position will collect business requirements and analysis through meetings with users, peers, external partners and company management to determine the best solutions to meet the needs of the business. Further, this position will create reports, queries, business cases and presentations at the appropriate level of detail to provide decision/business support.

 

 

The ideal candidate will have 7 years of progressive work experience as a Software Engineer or consultant with Multi-Carrier Shipping Software solutions. This role regularly interfaces with business users and leadership. Previous Project Management, Process Improvement Project and Supply Chain business experience is a definite plus.

 

 

Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities


 

 

  • Provide primary support and enhancements to the BluJay Parcel multi-carrier shipping system.
  • Participate and contribute in requirements gathering and analysis to understand the domain of the software problem and/or functionality, the interfaces between hardware and software, and the overall software characteristics
  • Understands technical architecture of a subset of applications within the portfolio and sometimes participates in cross functional design
  • Adhere to software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Contribute to story grooming, refinement and corresponding software/system design in addition to implementation.
  • Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
  • Collaborates within own team and business partners
  • Helps train entry-level team members on application functionality, design, and coding standards
  • Technically proficient and responsible for software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding software enhancements
  • Responsible for translating use cases and/or technical specifications into test cases to drive software quality

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • Advance proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Minimum of three years of Multi-carrier Shipping Solution software technical application configuration/implementation experience. (BluJay, Precision, ProShip)
  • Intermediate Proficiency with FedEx Ship Manager Solution software
  • Minimum of five years of Supply Chain experience.
  • Working Knowledge of databases – MySQL, Oracle, SyBase, SQL Server, Informix, via SQL Developer, Toad, etc.
  • Functional experience with API Management Platforms
  • Technically Proficient with Crystal Reports creation
  • AIX and LINUX skills will be emphasized
  • PHP, JAVA, JSON, XML, C++ skills needed
  • Windows Batch Scripting
  • 3 + years with requirements gathering, process design, configuration, functional design, testing, conversion, and deployment experience
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Word, Outlook & Power Point
  • Experience working with Project Management tools (MS Project, Jira, Atlassian)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Process oriented with high attention to detail
  • Strong process and analytical skill set.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

 

 

  • 3+ years’ experience performing requirements gathering, process design, configuration, functional design, testing, conversion, and deployment experience with Manhattan WMOS or MAWM.
  • 3 + years’ experience implementing Supply Chain applications
  • 5+ years’ experience in a large, complex, multi-unit department store, fashion or apparel/footwear retailer
  • Multiple Supply Chain experiences (Implementation, Upgrades)
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project development methodologies.
