Sr. IT Systems Engineer:

Position Description:
ASK Chemicals needs a Senior IT Systems Engineer. An expert with proven experience in most things IT Operations related, Microsoft cloud services administration, primarily for AWS, Azure, and Office 365, also Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, Teams, and other cloud services as implemented at ASK. The Senior IT Systems Engineer will have experience in IT systems, networking, and IT Project Management.
This person will work in an international team to run, maintain, and develop a global IT environment. The candidate will be in our IT Competence Center in Dublin, Ohio. The successful candidate will be well-organized, highly motivated, and a team player.
Position is hybrid. Wednesdays are in the Dublin office and the rest is remote.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support a global cloud-first infrastructure, including complex multi-cloud architecture, networking, and software configurations.
- Work with a global team to establish and improve processes and procedures
- Work on Infrastructure projects with an important level of quality
- Manage solutions within the following systems, products, and services: Microsoft Windows Server Systems, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, SharePoint, SQL, Microsoft Office 365 & Azure Cloud, AWS (Amazon Web Services) Systems, Hyper-V, Cisco, Fortinet, and Zscaler
- Proactively manage supported products and services to assure their performance, availability, security, and capacity
- Troubleshoots problems with applications, network, and security infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN appliances, proxy servers, DNS appliances, and Wireless devices.
- Serve as a point of contact representing supported technologies, products, and services to other Corporate IT groups and the ASK business stakeholders.
- Will communicate with managed service partners and vendors (Microsoft, Cisco, Fortinet, Zscaler) to gain a clear understanding of product or service capabilities and costs
- Interact with the service desk and other Corporate IT teammates to assist in troubleshooting, identify root causes, and provide technical support when needed
- Analyzes and estimates feasibility, costs, time, and work effort needed to design and implement moderately complex technical solutions.
- May lead projects with small to moderately sized scopes and teams.
- Recommend and implement configurations according to ASK Architecture and Security standards.
- Maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommends modifications as required.
- Perform other IT Operations duties as assigned
- This position requires occasional travel both domestically and internationally
Minimum Experience Required:
- 10+ years of combined real-world IT Operations support experience (IT systems, networking, cloud, and infrastructure)
- 7 years of real-world/professional Microsoft environment support experience
- High-level knowledge of GPO Infrastructure
- High-level understanding of Active Directory
- Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, and print service
- Deep technical Skills and capable of serving as an SME (subject matter expert) across most M365 technologies.
- Experience with a hyper-scale cloud platform such as AWS or Azure
- Microsoft Intune for MDM (Mobile Device Management) + Computer Management.
- Worked with technologies like password managers, Single Sign On, 2-Step, or Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
- Familiarity with SQL Databases beneficial
- Maintain internal infrastructure requirements, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, printers, phones, and security updates
- A high level of knowledge/experience supporting end-to-end network technologies such as routers, switches, VPN appliances, firewalls, proxies, load balancers, DNS, and Wi-Fi devices.
- Distinguished troubleshooting ability in IT systems, infrastructure, and networks.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work both independently and in a global group
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's Degree related to a technical field or 10+ years of equivalent experience
- Training or certification in Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) certifications
- Training or certification in IT Security, Microsoft Exchange Administration, and Networking are desirable.
- Thorough understanding of project management principles and planning.
