Remote SQL Developer (SQL Server / T-SQL / ETL)

A well-established, highly regarded financial research and ratings organization is adding a Remote SQL Developer to support data-driven products used by consumers, professionals, and institutions. This team builds trusted analytics across markets—helping people make smarter, safer decisions with high-quality insights.

What you’ll do

• Build & maintain SQL Server database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers)
• Optimize performance for large datasets (query tuning, indexing strategies, execution plans)
• Develop ETL workflows to support integration, reporting, and analytics use cases
• Partner closely with application developers, analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable data solutions
• Troubleshoot & resolve database issues with a focus on availability, integrity, and stability
• Contribute in an Agile environment (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
• Stay current on modern database practices, tooling, and architecture patterns

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of hands-on SQL development and database design experience
• Strong SQL Server + T-SQL expertise
• Experience building and supporting ETL/data integration processes
• Proven ability in performance tuning (indexing, query optimization, monitoring)
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and reporting/BI tools (e.g., SSRS, Power BI)

Bonus points (nice to have)

• Experience with Azure SQL Database (or similar cloud data platforms)
• Exposure to CI/CD approaches for database deployments
• Comfort working in a remote-first environment with strong written communication
