Software Engineer, AI Automation

AI Talent Hunt is hiring on behalf of its partner for an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer, AI Automation to join a fast-growing AI startup transforming the renewable energy industry through production-grade AI agents.

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid – 3 days/week in Brooklyn)

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: $150,000 – $220,000 + Competitive Equity

Visa: OPT sponsorship available; H-1B transfers supported

About the Role

We're looking for a software engineer with strong experience building data-intensive systems and deploying AI agents into production. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced startup environment, taking ownership of products, and building intelligent automation that replaces manual workflows.

You will collaborate with domain experts to develop AI-powered solutions that accelerate renewable energy infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, build, and deploy production-grade AI agents for complex business workflows.
2. Develop end-to-end features across backend services, ETL pipelines, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
3. Build automation systems that streamline permitting, siting, and interconnection processes.
4. Work closely with product managers and domain experts to deliver impactful features.
5. Scale AI-driven platforms handling increasing workloads and data volumes.
6. Apply AI technologies to solve real-world infrastructure and energy challenges.

Required Qualifications

1. 3–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
2. Recent hands-on experience deploying AI agents into production.
3. Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
4. Experience with LangGraph, Agent SDKs, or similar agent frameworks.
5. Experience building scalable backend systems, ETL pipelines, databases, and infrastructure.
6. Comfortable working in startup environments with high ownership.
7. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from a leading university.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience at a high-growth AI SaaS or vertical AI startup.
2. Experience with geospatial data, GIS, or energy infrastructure.
3. Background in renewable energy, climate technology, or infrastructure software.
4. Strong full-stack engineering capabilities.
