About CCS

Charlie's Collectible Show is a family-friendly hobby and collectibles marketplace running free-entry, free-parking weekly events across Atlanta, Houston, and Raleigh. We cover TCG, anime, retro video games, Funko Pop, Hot Wheels, sports cards, comics, and more. Our marketing doesn't sound like marketing. It sounds like one fan talking to another.

The Role

We're hiring a Social Media Copywriter to produce first-draft copy across our marketing surface: Instagram captions, Facebook group reposting taglines, video overlay text, newsletter copy, promo video scripts, full event descriptions, website content, and live community engagement across social and email. You'll start by learning our systems hands-on with close support, then grow into authoring most of this copy independently as you prove you can hold the CCS voice on your own.

This is a writing role for someone who is genuinely in the culture, not someone who can fake it. You should already know the difference between a TCG meta shift and a set rotation, why a slasher fan and a kaiju fan are different audiences, and what makes a retro gamer nostalgic. That fluency is the job.

What you'll write

1. Instagram and social captions for events across all locations
2. Facebook group reposting taglines
3. Social media message and comment replies, in CCS voice
4. hello@ email responses, as part of community engagement
5. Video overlay text and promo video copy
6. Newsletter copy
7. Full event descriptions for Eventbrite, Facebook, and the website
8. Website content: home page, CCS Family Vendor page, and special guest signing announcement pages
9. Paid ad headlines and descriptions

What you'll help maintain (as you ramp into ownership)

1. Vendor email templates: reviewing and aligning them with how CCS typically communicates with vendors
2. General FAQ database: reviewing new FAQs and proposed changes from agents, and approving final versions
3. Copywriting SOPs: updating them as feedback comes in from each review routing

Must-have qualifications

1. Genuine fandom fluency across one or more of our core categories (TCG, anime, retro gaming, collectibles, sports cards, comics), whether in personal or professional experience
2. Ability to shift voice between fandoms convincingly
3. Strong self-editing; turns in clean first drafts that need light review, not rewrites
4. Able to write quick, on-brand, friendly replies to fan messages, comments, and emails in real time
5. Reliable, deadline-driven, organized across a high volume of recurring events

Nice to have

1. Prior social media or marketing copywriting experience
2. Familiarity with event or community-driven brands
3. Experience writing to a defined brand voice guide
4. Community management or social engagement experience

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
