Senior Software Developer – C++/MFC

Direct Hire - Full Time - Remote

Our client, a leading construction company, is seeking a Senior Software Developer with expertise in Modern C++ and Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) to join their growing team on a full-time, permanent, and fully remote basis. In this role, you'll play a key part in building and maintaining backend services for a cloud-based construction management platform. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product managers, architects, and fellow developers—to deliver high-performance, scalable software that meets the specific needs of the construction sector.

Technology Stack:

1. C++ (Modern C++ development)
2. MFC (Microsoft Foundation Classes)

Responsibilities:

1. Write clean, maintainable, and scalable C++ code within a mature MFC framework
2. Analyze complex technical problems & implement optimized, high-performance solutions
3. Participate in code reviews, share best practices & mentor junior developers
4. Collaborate with QA, PMs, BAs & other devs to drive successful project delivery
5. Ensure software reliability through unit, integration & regression testing
6. Author and maintain high-quality technical documentation
7. Work within an agile, collaborative environment that emphasizes quality & delivery
8. Stay current on emerging technologies, contribute to continuous improvement & team knowledge sharing
9. Contribute to a talented, passionate internal software group that values code craftsmanship
10. Perform other duties as assigned that help grow the team & product suite

Preferred Background:

1. 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with a strong emphasis on C++/MFC
2. Exposure to or understanding of the construction, building, or field services industries (helpful but not required for all applicants)
3. Excellent debugging & troubleshooting skills
4. Strong collaboration, communication & mentoring abilities
5. Self-motivated, team-focused & excited about building long-lasting, scalable solutions
6. Experience working remotely or in distributed teams a plus
