Job Description:

SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

We are searching for a self-motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer with a proven record of excellent product delivery to lead several company projects. Key responsibilities of this position will include independently carrying out moderately complex projects from start to finish. Must be a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of his/her assigned projects. Responsibilities will include working alongside other professionals to ensure deadlines are met, liaising with external stakeholders, attending meetings, using CAD software to produce detailed designs, ensuring all projects remain within budgetary and time constraints, and compiling reports for the decision makers.

This individual reports to the Director of Engineering.

Senior Mechanical Engineers Responsibilities

· Analyzing problems and coming up with designs to solve them.

· Networking and collaborating with other engineers and professionals.

· Working within the budget to deliver safe and efficient products on time.

· Allocating resources and time effectively.

· Develop design prototypes.

· Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

· Attending meetings and providing input and updates.

· Perform Product Design & Development of Mechanical Systems in support of the Marine Industry and beyond.

· Perform classical calculations and Finite Element analysis modeling on structural and mechanical members.

· Details, Assembly & Schematic drawings as it relates to structural, mechanical hydraulic and electronics.

· Plans, organizes, and effectively manages his/her time whilst working on multiple assigned projects.

· Work with customers to validate that our designs follow customer contract specifications.

· Ensure that the engineered product is Designed for Manufacturing (DFM) in accordance with the companies’ best practices and esthetic requirements.

· Work with plant and service personnel on restitution of design or field related issues.

· Assist other departments in preparation of manuals and sales literature of assigned projects.

· Coordinate work activities with internal and external resources

Senior Mechanical Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
  • Experience with the Department of Defense.
  • Must have 5 to 7 years of experience from a Lift equipment industry.
  • Prior experience manufacturing design methods and procedures is required.
  • Experience with an advanced FEA modeling software package.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD and with 3D modeling software is required, preferably Solid Works.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems. Must be able to interpret and assimilate schematics.
  • Additional courses in mathematics, physical science, or design, recommended.
  • Relevant certifications, registrations, and licenses may be required.
  • Superb creativity, vision, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and self-confidence.
  • Extensive experience working on engineering projects.
  • Ability to make decisions in high-stress situations.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Curiosity and a growth mindset.
