Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing scalable systems and powering features that connect users through messaging, mapping, and personalized recommendations.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead core service components like recommendation engines, ensuring reliability and scalability with a Node.js codebase
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UX, data science, and product to deliver user-centric solutions
• Own end-to-end development processes, from architecture to deployment, following CI/CD best practices
• Optimize performance across databases like Postgres, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch

What You’ll Bring:

• 6+ years of software development experience, including leadership in scalable system design
• BS/MS in related technical field (Professional Experience can serve as substitute for non-engineering backgrounds)
• Proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, Golang, or TypeScript
• Experience with modern search technologies (e.g., OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, Vector DBs)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams
