Job Description:

Performs clerical duties for the department. Is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Department and the Hospital Center.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Answers telephones, gives information to callers, takes messages and relays messages to staff.

2. Greets patients, vendors and visitors.

3. Prepares schedules and makes appointments on computerized program

4. Prints and updates staffing boards.

5. Registers patients in our system and update their demographics.

6. Performs receptionist duties and screens all personnel and visitors.

7. Sorts/distributes mail

8. Calls staff for reassignment or overtime; notifies and records appropriately.

9. Assigns supplemental staff.

10. Makes telephone calls to obtain additional staff as necessary.

11. Records unit census on daily staffing sheets.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED

Experience:
Three to nine months of customer service experience required.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $24.54 - $25.07 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
