The Gasch Lab within the UW-Madison Center for Genomic Science Innovation (CGSI) and the Department of Medical Genetics seeks an ambitious and highly motivated Scientist I to support research to the Gasch Lab. The successful candidate will lead and conduct genomic and molecular analysis in yeast and human tissue culture to study impacts of gene overexpression on aging and physiology. Work will include genomic analysis of transcriptomes and translational stress, ribosome footprinting, microscopy analysis of proteostasis stress, among other molecular techniques. The successful candidate will oversee the work, supervise undergraduate students, lead writing of manuscripts for publication, assist in grant writing, and contribute to the overall vision of the project. In addition to genomic and molecular analysis using a budding yeast model, this staff position will help to establish a tissue culture system in the Gasch Lab; thus, a candidate with the right expertise in genomics, yeast molecular biology, and human tissue culture is essential.
