NVIDIA is seeking to hire a principal software engineer to develop and scale its Data Transcode framework! Our Data Transcode framework is the highly optimized transcoding engine widely used by AV Perception team for data prep pipelines. In order to support this activity, you will need to have strong programming skills in C/C++/GoLang, decent knowledge of video coding fundamentals, and mathematics. In addition, it is desired that you have experience with different types of sensor technologies and an understanding of cloud-based technologies. Since this effort is worldwide, you will require excellent communication and planning skills.
What you'll be doing:
Design and build scalable data transform pipelines that ensure the performance and robustness of service.
Research and develop data compression techniques to optimize data storage.
Root cause and triage issues caught by the data transform framework.
Closely collaborate with our hardware platform and sensor teams when designing and implementing new tests to expand our test coverage.
What we need to see:
You have a Masters in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
10+ years of Work or Research Experience.
Strong programming background that incorporates methodologies like data structures, design patterns, OOP, and test-driven development.
Experience with or solid understanding of hardware and sensor technologies.
You possess advanced programming skills to build efficient solutions optimized for runtime and memory footprint.
A specialist programmer in C/C++ and knowledge of Go.
Knowledge of video codec fundamentals.
Switch effectively between long-term strategic management and near-term tactical management.
Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills, you have the ability to work successfully with multi-functional teams, principles and architects and coordinate effectively across organizational boundaries and geographies.

The base salary range is $251,000 - $377,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
