Additionally, we'd love for you to have the ability to push, motivate, and support a small team to do their best work.

What You’ll Do:

  • Plan, assign, and edit the fantastic entertainment/pop culture/lifestyle content produced by Trending team’s weekend writers
  • Develop stories that will meet audience and traffic goals
  • Monitor the team’s speed, thoroughness, and output
  • Use analytics & research tools such as Google Analytics, Google Trends, Parsley, etc. to monitor story performance, and adjust strategy accordingly

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5-10 years’ experience working in a fast-paced digital environment, preferably in entertainment/pop culture news
  • Experience reporting original news, interviewing and sourcing
  • Knowledge of digital content best practices, SEO and audience development tactics

  • Collaborative and team-oriented
  • A sense of fun, urgency, and a can-do attitude

  • This is a temporary maternity fill-in position beginning roughly September 3rd 2024 and lasting through January 31st 2025. You will also be required to staff the news desk for special events such as the Emmys and other awards shows and fulfill shifts during holiday periods.
