Job Description:

Children’s Therapy Center’s is looking for a Manager of Institutional Giving. Our Manager of Institutional Giving manages a portfolio of funders and collaborates across teams to steward institutional support of all kinds. Reporting to the Director of Community Engagement (CE), this position works cross-functionally with leaders and staff across the organization to strengthen institutional funder relationships (corporate and business funders, private and public foundations, government agencies, community groups). CTC’s Manager of Institutional Giving authors and administers grants, works with Directors and Community Engagement team to prioritize opportunities, edits proposals and reports, and carries out research in order to meet financial goals and build a stable and diverse base of support for the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

Fundraising and Relationship Building

  • Lead Corporate and Foundation giving, as well as contracts with government partners to achieve annual fundraising goals
  • Determine process for prioritization of for proposals based on funding area, award amount, mission alignment and staff capacity
  • Develop and implement a multi-year values-aligned institutional fundraising strategy, working collaboratively with the Dir. of CE to align institutional giving and engagement strategy with the overall fundraising strategy and CTC’s strategic vision
  • Develop and implement an annual cultivation and retention strategy for each funder to sustain or increase giving
  • Write and present compelling case statements and proposals to prospective and longtime funders
  • Document all prospect research, funder interactions, contact details, grant agreements, and all other information relevant to the funder’s relationship to CTC in Raiser’s Edge NXT CRM
  • Design, implement, and oversee prospecting strategy for institutional giving, including special project funding and event sponsorships
  • Author reports for funders and ensure timely reporting requirements for all institutional funders are met
  • Create centralized project management system for tracking proposal and report timelines, ensuring timely partnership with contributing teams across the organization
  • Engage and facilitate the Board of Directors' participation in institutional relationship development identifying, cultivating, soliciting, acknowledging, and stewarding funders
  • Partner with Board, staff and volunteers to build a community-centered culture of philanthropy, ensuring that they have the resources and support to contribute their talents and resources to our fundraising efforts
  • Responsible for speaking to broader contextual factors that impact the lived experience of children with special needs in CTC programs, such as systemic discrimination, the foster care and education systems, health disparities, ACES, the intersection of race and disability. etc.
  • Develop the annual revenue budget for all institutional fundraising in partnership with CE Director

Fundraising Leadership

  • Co-create a team culture of ongoing learning and improvement
  • Share consistent progress updates towards funding proposals across teams
  • Remove barriers and manage information flows from/to Community Engagement team to ensure teams supporting proposals have advanced notification about their contributions for proposal and reports
  • Coordinate with other leaders across CTC to ensure effective collaboration between teams
  • Contribute to strategy, planning, and execution of supporter engagement, community outreach and fundraising events beyond alignment with institutional funder responsibilities
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Grants/Development Manager or Relationship Development Officer, or similar role managing a portfolio of institutional funders
  • Demonstrated success developing compelling grant proposals and securing gifts from institutional funders
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive and effective working relationships with individuals of various ages, race, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, gender identities and abilities
  • Deep commitment to racial equity and social justice and ability to engage in conversations about diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging
  • Ability to maintain a high level of discretion when working with confidential information
  • Outstanding relationship building skills, that are grounded in an equity framework
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills; demonstrated ability to write and tailor persuasive messaging for different audiences
  • Desire and ability to draw on creative problem solving, taking initiative, and the ability to plan, test ideas, learn, and adapt
  • Desire to contribute to success of CE team and organization as a whole beyond individual role responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities, manage multiple projects, and exercise good judgment in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment
  • Aptitude with Microsoft Office Suite, Raiser’s Edge NXT or similar relational databases, and other technology necessary for successful day-to-day responsibilities

Schedule:

This position is available a full time 40 hour per week; in-person work is necessary for key meetings and events.
