About the Role

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you'll build the next generation of AI systems designed to preserve and enhance critical thinking in the age of generative AI. You'll work in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment alongside passionate builders creating industry-defining AI products used by millions worldwide.

What You’ll Do

• Fine-tune and evaluate state-of-the-art large language models
• Design and optimize prompts to maximize classification accuracy, personalization, and style adherence
• Build multi-agent workflows using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and diverse data sources
• Improve AI agents through experimentation, observability, and iterative testing
• Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to inform practical model improvements
• Stay current with emerging AI research and apply cutting-edge methods to novel problems
• Collaborate closely with product and design to ship intuitive, high-impact AI applications

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with Python
• Experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex
• Hands-on experience building agentic systems or RAG applications
• Strong exploratory data analysis (EDA) skills
• Experience pushing LLM performance on subjective or novel tasks
• Strong software engineering skills, with experience building modular, extensible systems and complex pipelines
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to own projects end-to-end
• Motivation to create meaningful societal impact
• Comfortable operating in a fast-growing, evolving team
• Work authorization in Canada or the U.S.

Nice to Have

• Strong open-source portfolio
• Publications in top-tier ML venues
• Experience in early-stage startup environments
• Experience with prompt optimization frameworks such as DsPY or TextGrad
