Job Description:

We are looking for someone with experience in early start up food production to join our team who is flexible enough to pivot when necessary, grounded enough to enjoy a lean team found in a start-up, and empathetic enough to value the company’s mission and the people we serve.

General Summary

We are a new start up that is focused on building the foundation of a great business. Youo would be responsible for supporting and guiding preparation, assembly and packaging of baked or dehydrated food items. Focused on consistency of product through accuracy of process. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with State and Federal guidelines. Successful candidate needs to be nimble enough to perform all duties in the manufacturing process and communicate regularly with the CEO.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

· Be able to perform all food production elements of the company and ensure safe and consistent manufacturing practices are maintained.

· Set up and manage general production flow for each production line; include documentation for batch tracking, prep, production, food safety, QA, packaging and shipping.

· Identify potential safety hazards and mitigate.

· Support and monitor sanitizing procedures for pre and post production.

  • Responsible for preparation of food products following recipes
  • Packaging, date labeling and boxing for shipment or inventory.
  • Ensure all products meet quality, quantity and portioning standards in accordance with guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Skills and Experience

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Minimum two year’s experience in food production, assembly; baking experience is an asset

-Needs to have worked in early food start ups before

· Current Oregon Food Handler’s Certificate

· Knowledge of safe food handling procedures and current Food Handler’s Card

· Excellent organizational, record keeping, time management and multi-tasking skills, including the ability to set priorities and have flexibility to modify as needed

· Strong computer and administrative skills

· Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

· Work with and around food production machinery (sealer, ovens,dehydrators, mixers, etc…)

· Exposure to cold, heat, and water

· High frequency of multiple repetitive movements, including bending, reaching, and piping.

· The individual must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularly

· Ability to stand for eight (8) hours a day or more

· Candidate must successfully pass the pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test and criminal background check

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Weekends as needed
