Responsibilities:

As the Development Lead, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our development team and the continued growth of our platform. Your responsibilities will include:

Collaborating with a third-party developer to lead the complete rebuild of our mobile app.

Overseeing and actively participating in the development of new features for our web and mobile apps.

Performing code reviews and providing constructive feedback to maintain code quality and best practices.

Organizing and managing Jira tickets and sprints to ensure timely delivery of development tasks.

Developing and improving the Quality Assurance (QA) process, ensuring high-quality software releases.

Continuously engaging in product development, contributing innovative ideas and driving improvements.

Participating in design implementation discussions, offering valuable insights and expertise.

Planning and architecting new features, considering scalability, performance, and user experience.

Providing mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering their growth and professional development.

Demonstrating versatility by wearing multiple hats and effectively managing various development projects.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales, customer success, and business development, to align development efforts with organizational goals.

Working with third-party vendors and partner organizations to integrate their solutions with our platform.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).

Several years of experience in building and architecting enterprise-level web applications and cross-platform mobile apps.

Proficiency in Java, NodeJS, SQL, React/NextJS, and React Native.

Experience working with marketplace apps is highly desirable.

Familiarity with software development for the residential construction industry is a plus.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage junior developers effectively.

Project management experience, capable of taking ideas from conception to final product.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with various departments and external vendors.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and flexibility in adapting to evolving project needs.

Understanding of DevOps principles and experience working with DevOps contractors.

Passion for quality assurance and driving improvements in the QA process.

Demonstrated track record of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Performance Expectations (within the first six months):

Within the first six months in this role, your performance will be evaluated based on the following key objectives:

Overseeing the development of at least three new core features in the web app.

Collaborating with a third-party development firm to make significant progress in rebuilding the mobile app.

Developing and improving the QA process, ensuring high software quality.

Implementing Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices for both web and mobile apps.
