Conceptualize, design, and produce print projects and other graphic materials of all levels needed for
the marketing communications, provider education and communications, employee communications,
employer communications, and corporate communications efforts of UPMC Health Plan. Conceive
creative visual ideas and solutions; design graphic materials such as brochures, newsletters,
advertisements, presentations, and other documents and collateral, with proper attention to function,
concept, visual appearance and corporate identity requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare computer files and/or camera-ready artwork and perform prepress functions for basic and intermediate graphic materials such as newsletters, brochures, booklets, and other materials.
• Under the guidance of supervisor or other senior design staff, design primarily basic and intermediate and secondarily advanced projects such as newsletters, brochures, booklets, flyers, presentations, and other print materials.
• Under the direction of various senior design staff, design and coordinate production, assembly, and storage of displays, exhibits, posters, signage, and other miscellaneous three-dimensional projects.
• Prepare thorough, accurate printing specifications and communicate these specifications to the Senior Manager, Production for bidding.
• Assist Senior Manager, Production in the preparation of production schedules.
• Maintain UPMC Corporate Graphic Standards on UPMC materials; provide consultation to various audiences regarding the implementation of standards.
• Work a sufficient number of project hours to meet annual productivity goals; maintain an accurate record of hours worked.
• Provide the very best service possible by working efficiently as a team member or individually with staff and clients.
• Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Educational and Knowledge Requirements

• B.A. degree in Graphic Design or related field
• 0-2 years design experience
• Knowledge of and experience in using computer graphics and electronic imaging hardware and software to perform basic and complex graphic design and production functions required
• Well-rounded portfolio of projects that demonstrate design and production abilities required
• Experience in corporate publication design preferred
• Experience in three-dimensional display design preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills required
