Position Summary:
Crusoe is looking for a well rounded Environmental Specialist to join our expanding Health, Safety, and Environmental team. This is a new role that will report directly to the HSE Director and will be located in our Denver Office. The Environmental Specialist will be an integral member of the Field Operations and Manufacturing Teams and will support multiple groups throughout Crusoe’s operations. This role will engage with internal management, planning, and business development teams to ensure that Environmental permits and obligations are identified, obtained, and authorized in accordance with local, State, and Federal regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of technical Environmental understanding in various disciplines with a specific focus on air permitting applicationsAdditional desired skills include being a proactive and solutions focused team member with an ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

 

A day in the life :

  • Assessing projects and operations to determine appropriate Environmental permits, registrations,and obligations

  • Working with various regulatory agencies to facilitate the permitting process and obtain permits or authorizations in a timely manner to facilitate operational plans

  • Working with internal teams to ensure that key stakeholders are aware of permit status and timeframes to ensure that business plans remain on track

  • Developing and implementing various Environmental processes, checklists, spreadsheets, and/or databases to track and report on the status of permits and compliance obligations such as testing and reporting

  • Reviewing all technical permit applications as well as test data and/or reports to ensure accuracy and completeness

  • Submitting all required permits, reports, and data in a timely manner

  • Acting as an Environmental Subject Matter Expert for matters within Crusoe operations

  • Target areas of knowledge include Air (main focus), Waste, SPCC, and Water

  • Monitoring compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Reporting on Environmental objectives and metrics

  • Plan and assist with compliance audits and self-assessments

  • Facilitate Environmental incident investigations and root cause analysis efforts following failures, incidents, accidents, or non-compliance events

  • Develop, coordinate, and actively participate in Environmental training of personnel

  • Maintain awareness of new Environmental requirements

  • Ensure that the relevant Environmental documentation is maintained and available at the worksites

You will thrive in this role if:

  • University degree required; Engineering or Environmental focus preferred

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience is required

  • Must have experience with air permitting and compliance obligations. Preference will be given to well rounded candidates who also have experience in other Environmental areas such as Waste,SPCC, and Water regulations

  • Technical knowledge of various Environmental rules and regulations at both the Federal and State level. Examples include: Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and associated regulations

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent computer skills

Compensation will be paid in the range of $125,000-$135,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
