Job Description:

The Digital Marketing Manager will design, execute, systematically document, and optimize the comprehensive digital marketing footprint, marketing automation infrastructure, and lead distribution pipeline for a premier, national wealth management firm.

This multi-faceted role requires hands-on campaign execution (Meta/Google Ads, WordPress landing page builds, and Pardot automation), vendor management (SEO contractors and freelance video editors), and rigorous system oversight via a highly customized Salesforce CRM. Working in close tandem with the Sales Manager, this role ensures marketing-generated leads are flawlessly tracked, distributed seamlessly, and followed up on efficiently by the advisory team, all while strictly adhering to SEC compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Offer Development & Campaign Architecture

  • Strategic Offer Creation: Assist in developing the marketing offers themselves (e.g., high-value financial guides, digital assessments, webinars, consultation hooks) rather than just building the ads promoting them.
  • Rigorous Campaign Briefs: Write a comprehensive campaign brief prior to any structural build, defining the business objective, audience profiling, strict exclusions, offer details, target KPIs, creative direction, and test hypotheses.
  • Data-Backed Budgeting: Proactively recommend the budget required for a campaign to realistically achieve its objectives, providing mathematical rationale rather than executing blindly to arbitrary numbers.
  • Pre-Launch Kill Criteria: Numerically define success metrics and strict "kill criteria" for ad spend before any campaign is set live.

2. Paid Ads & Multi-Channel Content Optimization

  • Ad Management & Diagnostics: Build, launch, and optimize paid acquisition campaigns within Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager. Diagnose weak results accurately by isolating whether the breakdown is a creative, audience, offer, landing page, or tracking failure.
  • Downstream Metric Optimization: Optimize campaigns against cost-per-qualified lead and cost-per-appointment set/held, rather than vanity metrics like CTR or CPM.
  • Audience Exclusion & Suppression: Build and maintain strict audience exclusion and suppression lists to prevent wasted ad spend on existing wealth management clients and prospects already active in the sales pipeline.
  • A/B Test Discipline: Enforce strict scientific A/B testing protocols (testing one variable at a time, securing adequate sample sizes, and forbidding the premature calling of "winners" on day two).
  • Budget Pacing & Asset Libraries: Manage daily budget pacing and ad frequency thresholds to avoid audience fatigue. Maintain a centralized, tested-creative library where winning and losing variants systematically inform the next generation of creatives.
  • Organic Channel Distribution: Schedule and publish high-performing short-form video content and written financial articles via Vista Social across FB, IG, YouTube, and LinkedIn platforms.

3. Tracking, Attribution & Automation Integrity

  • Pixel & API Infrastructure: Install, audit, and verify Meta Pixels, Meta Conversions API (CAPI) events, Google Ads conversion tracking, and GA4 custom events.
  • Tag & Analytics Management: Maintain a deep operational knowledge of GA4 Events Manager and Google Tag Manager, actively collaborating with external technical vendors to guarantee flawless data collection.
  • UTM Taxonomy Enforcer: Own and enforce a rigid, company-wide UTM taxonomy across all paid, organic social, and email channels.
  • Attribution Persistence: Ensure UTM values reliably persist through WordPress landing pages, hidden form fields, and transfer cleanly onto the correct Salesforce lead record without data drop-offs.
  • Pardot Automation Ownership: Build and maintain Pardot forms, form handlers, completion actions, autoresponder sequences, nurture tracks, dynamic segmented lists, and lead scoring matrices.
  • Salesforce Sync Alignment: Continually verify that the Pardot-to-Salesforce sync behaves exactly as intended, including the automated creation and updating of CRM campaign members.

4. Routine QA & Automation Monitoring

  • Scheduled End-to-End Testing: Run regularly scheduled end-to-end pipeline tests (submitting live forms, confirming autoresponders arrive, verifying the lead lands in Salesforce with the correct source/routing, and confirming the conversion event fires across pixels).
  • Proactive Breakage Response: Treat silent automation breakage resulting from platform API updates as an expected, routine part of the job rather than a surprising exception.
  • QA Documentation: Maintain a documented, structured QA checklist and testing cadence to catch errors before they impact revenue.

5. Landing Page Build & Conversion Optimization

  • WordPress Page Ownership: Personally build, design, and iterate landing pages within WordPress, maintaining direct publish rights.
  • CRO Management: Take full ownership of layout design, copy refinement, strategic form styling/field count adjustments, mobile responsiveness, page speed optimization, and thank-you page conversion tracking.
  • Systematic Page Testing: Test individual page elements systematically over time rather than completely rebuilding landing pages from scratch for every new campaign.

6. Email Marketing Program Ownership

  • Email Suite Architecture: Take absolute ownership of the firm’s rebuilt email ecosystem, managing complex nurture tracks, advanced list segmentation, sending cadences, continuous list hygiene, email suppressions, and bounce handling.
  • Deliverability Infrastructure: Understand and monitor sending reputation and domain authentication standards (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
  • Vendor Operations: Manage the primary relationship and operational efficiency of the email platform/vendor post-transition.

7. Video Production Management & AI Integration

  • Production Direction & QC: Direct and quality-control the production of short-form and long-form video content. (Hands-on video editing capability in Descript and DaVinci Resolve is highly preferred, but the primary role is scaling output through external freelance editors/agencies).
  • AI Tool Maximization: Effectively utilize AI-assisted tools for creative variants, hook generation, script variations, captions, and graphic design, using professional human judgment to evaluate and polish the final output.
  • Data Feedback Loop: Feed video audience retention findings (e.g., where viewers drop off in a Reel or Short) directly back into paid ad creative strategies.

8. Salesforce Lead Pipeline & Sales Manager Partnership

  • Salesforce Architecture Monitoring: Monitor lead capture within a highly customized Salesforce CRM, ensuring flawless routing rules are enforced.
  • Sales Manager Collaboration: Partner directly with the internal Sales Manager to provide clear visibility into pipeline health. Monitor advisory response times and follow-up activities in Salesforce to protect marketing ROI without acting as the direct manager of the sales reps.
  • Two-Tier Reporting: Build, maintain, and deliver a clean two-tiered reporting package:
  • Executive Package: Track macro metrics including spend, lead volume by source, cost-per-lead, cost-per-appointment set and held, cost-per-closed relationship, and macro growth trends.
  • Marketing Diagnostic Package: Track micro metrics including creative-level performance, video hook retention, landing page conversion rates, form abandonment drop-offs, audience segment performance, and test results detailing what was learned.

9. Systemization, Documentation & Compliance

  • Modular Building: Build reusable templates, strict naming conventions, and modular asset components so that executing the next campaign is a matter of configuration, not structural reconstruction. Explicitly: adding another orphaned form to the digital pile is not an acceptable solution.
  • Continuity Documentation: Thoroughly document own configurations, tracking taxonomies, and automation workflows so the firm's marketing program can seamlessly survive a vacation, a platform update, or a personnel change.
  • Compliance Routing: Route all paid advertising, landing pages, and organic social content through the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) for pre-approval prior to publication.
  • SEC Marketing Rule Awareness: Maintain a strong working awareness of SEC marketing rule requirements, specifically regarding testimonials/endorsements, performance presentation formatting, and prohibited claims. Maintain organized advertising records and approval documentation for regulatory examination readiness.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: 3–5+ years of technical digital marketing experience managing paid acquisition, multi-channel social management, and complex marketing automation pipelines. High-end financial services or wealth management experience is a massive plus.
  • Automation & CRM Mastery: Deep, demonstrable experience running Pardot (or highly advanced HubSpot/Marketo setups) tightly integrated with a highly customized Salesforce CRM environment.
  • Tracking Competency: Proven expert-level execution in managing Google Tag Manager, GA4 event setups, Meta Pixel/CAPI installations, and structured UTM attribution mapping.
  • Web & Editing Tools: Technical proficiency building landing pages in WordPress. Experience directing video workflows, utilizing Descript, DaVinci Resolve, and leveraging modern AI-assisted creative tools.
  • Compliance Mindset: Comfort operating within a highly regulated environment, working directly with a CCO, and staying organized for audit readiness.
  • Operational Discipline: An obsessive approach to documentation, testing cadences, and building reusable marketing systems rather than ad-hoc fixes.
