We are seeking a Director of Software Engineering to develop our laser system software, from data handling and processing to real time instrument control. A successful candidate will be confident designing robust code for remote systems. We are a small and fast-growing company, so the position offers a large amount of both freedom and responsibility!

What You’ll Do

• Leadership role – select packages and systems to optimize system performance
• Software development for embedded/edge devices, including hardware control and data handling
• Test hardware/software interfaces
• Provide creative solutions to make our sensors smarter and faster

Essential Skills

• Python mastery (object-oriented design, multithreading, memory management)
• C++ mastery for embedded devices
• Serial interface proficiency (I2C, SPI, RS232)
• Hardware in Loop (HIL) testing methodology
• Linux proficiency
• Advanced Git proficiency
• BS or higher in a technical discipline
• Strong written and oral technical communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and in team environments

Desirable Skills

• Database experience (NoSQL)
• IoT development experience
• FPGA experience
