Job Description:

AllSTEM Connections is seeking a Controls Engineer to work onsite in Benson, AZ.

This is a Direct Hire role.

M-F, 8AM - 5PM

Salary is up to $122,484/year, depending on experience.

Purpose:

  • To design, program and maintain logic-based control systems with the goal of improving safety, reliability and efficiency.
  • To nurture a mutual learning relationship with electrical and instrument maintenance groups, providing technical support as needed.
  • To foster a mutual learning relationship with operations personnel and work with operations to identify and resolve issues and problems relating to the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems.

Knowledge, Skills and abilities:

  • Specific knowledge in the areas of boiler combustion (gas and coal) and steam and gas turbine performance including a general understanding of all aspects of coal and gas fired generating stations.
  • The ability to use computer tools and analysis techniques is essential.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Three or more years of experience in the Controls Engineering field
  • Good working knowledge of classic control theory and functional knowledge of advanced control philosophies.
  • Provide project management support for capital and O&M projects as assigned.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable regulatory codes, standards, and laws.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience can be substituted for requirements listed above.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor overall health of each control system at the Generating Station and identify actions and procedures to maintain and improve integrity of plant control systems.
  • Monitor DCS systems to quickly identify and resolve control and tuning issues.
  • Develop and implement safe, reliable, efficient control strategies to meet the changing requirements of existing and new plant processes.
  • Support the Results Engineering group in the common goal of improving plant performance.
  • Be knowledgeable of developing control technology and products, and plan for future needs, enhancements, upgrades, and replacements.
  • Develop Web based solutions to meet management needs.
  • Function well in a team environment and as a team leader.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $5,977.44 - $10,207.42 per month
