Our client is a leading manufacturing company servicing law enforcement and the military. They are growing and are looking for a Controller to own the accounting function.

Responsibilities

• Create, review, and analyze journal entries during monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings. Evaluate accruals and research impactful items.
• Manage monthly inventory valuation, reconcile cost ledgers, and establish labor and overhead rates. Review cost and variance trends, recommending responses.
• Lead preparation of accurate balance sheet and bank reconciliations. Resolve outstanding items promptly.
• Develop and modify management reports, ensuring distribution to the leadership team. Evaluate financial statements against budgets, taking action on misstated items.
• Assist in financial audits, develop audit schedules, and respond to auditor requests. Ensure proper documentation of processes and modify accounting policies.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 3-5 years of manufacturing accounting experience. Possess competencies in Standard Cost Accounting, U.S. GAAP, ERP systems, and high proficiency in MS Office. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
