Service Description: Members will support group and individual efforts to promote local food security and equity in Albany County, Wyoming. This 450-hour direct service position involves hands-on work in local food production (gardening), collection, and distribution; assistance with overall organizational operations and various community food projects. These positions will fill key roles to enhance and utilize multiple intensive farming plots. Members play a key role by serving at our farming sites, including 5 production plots, Hoop houses, community gardens, and more. Members also play a key role in a variety of educational elements, including educational tours of our gardens, farmers market activities, FLV summer events and more. Join us as we improve access to fresh, locally grown food in the Rocky Mountain region. Member Duties : Member Duties: Multiple start dates, rotate through FLV’s initiatives: farming and food distribution, Members will be involved in field preparation, planting, monitoring plant health, managing pests, harvesting food, and improving and documenting production processes and data collection. Food distribution includes coordinating with our local Co-op, production team, and local food producers, prepping, packing and distributing weekly Shares bags for pickup at our pickup location, assisting in shares deliveries for individuals who cannot access our pickup location, wash, sort and distribute high quality produce through our Shares Distribution Program, Assist in staffing and community outreach at weekly Farmers Markets in Downtown Laramie!
