Our client is one of Houston’s leading Civil Contractors who operates in both the public and private sectors. This company operates in multiple different sectors within the civil construction market, including underground utilities, site preparation, concrete, mass excavation and earthworks. The work on a variety of different projects ranged from $500k through to $30Mil. They self-perform all site work and take projects from bidding stage right through to completion. Due to a significant pipeline of work as well as internal promotion, the opportunity has arisen for a qualified estimator to join the team.

Your new role

You will be responsible for preparing comprehensive bids for underground utilities, concrete, and site work construction projects. Your day-to-day duties will include quantity take-offs, work scope assessment, cost estimates and completing the final bid preparation. You will be a key member of the estimating team and will be involved in the pre-construction process right through to the final bid stage. You will be a key member in this growing estimating department and have the ability to grow up within the company.

What you'll need to succeed

You will come from an extensive background in civil construction, ideally with experience in earthworks, concrete, utilities and site preparation. Ideally, you will start your career in the field and have some onsite experience. You will have strong communication skills and be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs. You will ideally have experience using HCSS bid assembly as well as strong MS Excel knowledge.
