About the Role

As a vital member of our clinical team, you’ll support cardiovascular physicians and medical staff in delivering comprehensive patient care. Your responsibilities will span direct patient interaction, diagnostic testing, clinical documentation, and administrative support. You’ll serve as a key link in ensuring a seamless, efficient, and patient-focused experience in our clinics.

Key Responsibilities

1. Record and update vital signs, medical histories, medications, allergies, and patient concerns
2. Assist physicians with exams, procedures, injections, EKGs, blood draws, and diagnostic preparations
3. Provide clear patient education and post-visit instructions to promote understanding and follow-through
4. Document care and provider orders accurately in electronic medical records (EMR)
5. Support Coumadin clinics, pacemaker/defibrillator checks, and monitor setup
6. Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked clinical areas; complete weekly OSHA and safety checks
7. Manage medical forms, supply ordering, and insurance pre-certifications
8. Assist front office with scheduling, patient registration, insurance verification, and HIPAA compliance
9. Respond to patient inquiries in person and by phone, ensuring excellent communication and service
10. Collaborate across departments to facilitate timely care, accurate documentation, and smooth workflow
11. Provide flexible support and cross-coverage to other clinics and team members as needed

What Makes You a Great Match

1. For LPNs: Current LPN license in Louisiana and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (ACLS a plus)
2. For CMAs: Certification as a CMA, RMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA and at least 400 clinical hours in cardiology
3. Experience with EMR systems and accurate clinical documentation
4. Proficiency in phlebotomy, EKGs, triage, injections, and assisting in diagnostic testing
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered focus
6. Organized, adaptable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
7. Committed to professional conduct, safety standards, and continuous improvement
