Bestlink is looking for a detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our team, producing AutoCAD drawings that support our home energy modelling work. You will turn floor plans, sketches, and site information into accurate 2D drawings that our energy assessors use to model how homes perform and where they can be improved.

You will work closely with our energy modellers to make sure measurements, layouts, and building details are clear and correct, since the quality of your drawings directly affects the accuracy of each energy assessment.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD
• Create comprehensive construction detail documentation to ensure clarity during the building process.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to interpret design schematics and translate them into precise technical drawings.
• Utilize building code analysis and building information modeling (BIM) tools to ensure compliance with local regulations and standards.
• Assist in system design and mechanical drafting for interior spaces or mechanical components using specialized CAD programs.
• Support the development of graphic designs for presentations or client proposals when needed.
• Review and revise drawings based on feedback, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project timelines.

Requirements

• Proven experience with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, Rhinoceros 3D (Rhino), Grasshopper 3D, 3ds Max, SolidWorks or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of construction detail documentation and drafting standards.
• Experience with building code compliance and conducting building code analysis.
• Skilled in 3D CAD modeling, BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools, and schematic development.
• Familiarity with interior design concepts, mechanical systems design, or system integration is a plus.
• Ability to interpret architectural or engineering schematics accurately and produce detailed technical drawings.
• Construction experience is highly desirable for understanding practical application of designs on-site.
• Excellent attention to detail combined with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
