Civil Engineering company located in Midlothian, Virginia has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer who resides in or is willing to relocate to the Richmond metropolitan area and can work remotely from home. Candidate must have a minimum of six (6) years of experience in land development design with strong technical abilities. Candidate will need to be able to work independently with little instruction and guidance on both small and large projects. Assignments will include drafting, design and engineering for development projects from master planning through site design and ultimately County and State approvals. Candidates must include the ability to perform:

• Accurate site layouts

• Utility design and engineering (both plan and profiles)

• Erosion & sediment control design

• Grading and earthworks analyses

• Drainage design (both plan and profiles)

• Road design (plan, profiles and cross-sections)

• Stormwater management (for both water quantity and water quality)

Candidate will need to keep abreast of new developments and methods affecting our area of expertise by participating in continuing education courses and/or attending training workshops if necessary. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of six (6) years experience in Land Development civil engineering, a working knowledge of AUTOCAD and Civil 3D software, ability to complete design details, prepare a full construction site plan set, and have the ability to communicate and work with internal Project Managers. Candidate must also have the ability to work from home while maintaining consistent communication with the design team to complete tasks and manage projects.
