Eugenio María de Hostos Charter School (EMHCS) is a K-12 school serving over 1,000 students. EMHCS

Summary of Position
The Assistant Principal is responsible for advancing academic excellence through strong instructional
leadership, effective assessment practices, and collaborative support of teachers and instructional staff.
This role ensures high-quality teaching and learning, promotes student achievement in literacy and
content areas. The Assistant Principal also contributes to the efficient management of daily school
operations.

Additional Roles and Responsibilities
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor. Exempt positions are to attend their
regular school-year schedule, which may include some evenings, weekends, and/or summer
responsibilities for training and planning.
Education / Experiences / Qualifications
Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related field.
Valid administrative certification.
Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership, teacher supervision, and data-driven
decision-making.
Strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and effective instructional practices.
Experience working with diverse student populations, including ELLs and students with special
needs.
Physical Demands
This position does require occasional standing and squatting, frequent sitting, and lifting to 10 lbs.
