The Accountant is a hands-on manager of Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and month end Financial Prep. The role is best suited for a team player who has an accounting degree, is strong in technical accounting, and is detail oriented.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct billing functions including identifying completed jobs, processing customer invoices, preparing pay applications, and distributing invoices to customers (through email, mail, or customer portals).
- Accounts Receivable including reporting and collections using our proven SOP.
- Accounts Payable including purchase orders, vendor invoicing, weekly check run, credit card transactions, reporting, tracking monthly recurring expenses, and making accruals when necessary.
- Reconcile credit card statements and vendor statements monthly.
- Assist with setting up accounts with vendors and customers.
- Assist with timekeeping review, payroll processing, and payroll tax reporting as needed.
- Assist with preparation and submission of tax forms and payments for all taxes filed in house.
- Month End Close including reconciliations, journal entries, PP&E schedules, financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Provide feedback on current processes and help develop more streamlined and efficient processes when needed.
- Collect data and collaborate with the accounting team to streamline reporting.
- Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly forecasts and projections with commentary.
- Strive for continuous improvement by participating in training and educational events or courses relevant to the position, career path, and/or industry.
Skills Needed:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting is highly preferred. (other degree and 4+ years technical accounting experience considered).
- Construction experience preferred.
- Quickbooks experience is preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel or Google Sheets experience required.
- Team player and natural, genuine desire to help/serve customers (internal and external)
- Eager to learn and grow accounting skills. Willing to try new software or new systems.
- Ability to independently manage own work and motivate subordinates to meet requirements and deadlines.
- Confidentiality and trustworthiness.
- Positive, upbeat personality required.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
