Sphera is seeking a skilled WordPress Website Developer to join our team and serve as the sole internal website developer reporting to the Marketing Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both backend PHP and frontend HTML/CSS/JS development. The candidate should be familiar with WordPress setups, particularly utilizing Page Builder layouts, preferably with WPBakery. The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams is crucial, as the role involves translating creative designs from Figma drawings and product team requirements into coded website enhancements. This role will work collaboratively with an outside agency to collectively serve as the technical lead for all things related to sphera.com.

Mandatory Skills:

• Backend and Frontend Development: Proficiency in developing backend PHP and frontend HTML/CSS/JS to create seamless and responsive websites.

• WordPress Expertise: Experience with WordPress setups, with a preference for proficiency in using Page Builder layouts, particularly WPBakery.

• Update plugins as needed

• Version Control: Utilization of a GitHub code repository and familiarity with branching strategies for efficient and collaborative development.

• CI/CD Implementation: Ability to create, modify, and troubleshoot GitHub Actions for Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes.

• Hosting Configuration: Experience in managing hosting configurations, preferably via WPEngine.

• Solution Architecture: Ability to translate business requirements into solution recommendations, considering performance, authoring, reusability, and maintenance implications.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate creative department's Figma drawings and product team's requirements into coded website enhancements.

• Emergency Support: Manage agency responsible for monitoring site stability and be available for outside of normal business hours for emergency support.

• Documentation: Document as you build including regression testing requirements

• Standards: Ability to follow ADA compliance and branding requirements

Additional Nice-to-Haves:

• Theme Experience: Familiarity with Salient theme.

• Database and SQL: Capabilities in database management and SQL.

• Plugin Management: Ability to update connected plugins when new versions are available.

• Enhancements: Experience in building website enhancements, including calculator tools, language selectors, NeverBounce and Stripe credit card processing
