Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Operations: Managing day-to-day financial activities, such as accounting, financial reporting, cash management, and accounts payable/receivable. Tracking performance of the team vs KPIs.
- Financial Planning: VP of Finance and Data will contribute to the development of long-term financial strategies and plans. Will provide valuable insights and recommendations to support our growth and profitability goals.
- Financial Analysis: Conducting financial analysis and providing insights to support strategic decision-making, resource allocation, and performance evaluation. Diving in to problem solve when the team is missing goals.
- Financial Systems and Processes: Overseeing the implementation and optimization of financial systems, tools, and processes to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. Setting financial targets and creating financial projections.
- Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. This could involve staying up to date with relevant laws and regulations, implementing effective internal controls, and leading financial audits or reviews.
- Data Analytics: Utilizing data to extract valuable insights, identify trends, and drive informed decision-making across the organization. Cleaning up data for analysis.
- Business Partnership: Collaborating with other departments, such as operations, sales, and marketing, to provide financial guidance, support budgeting, and optimize resource allocation. Manage weekly meetings with team members on performance.
- Stakeholder Communication: Must show effective communication skills in the role, specifically the ability to present complex financial information and insights to non-financial stakeholders. This includes conveying financial analysis, forecasts, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to support decision-making at the executive level and further on down the chain.
- Risk Assessment: Assessing financial and operational risks, implementing controls, and recommending strategies to mitigate risks and improve operational effectiveness. Solving problems involving data, cash management, forecasting and modeling.
- Performance Management: Responsible for setting performance targets, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and implementing performance management frameworks. This could involve establishing metrics for financial performance evaluation, conducting regular performance reviews, and driving continuous improvement across financial operations. This will be key with aggressive growth goals in front of us!
- Technology and Automation: Responsible to identify and leverage technologies and automation tools to streamline processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance efficiency. PowerBI, etc.
- Thought Leadership: Actively stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging financial strategies.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Senior leader who oversees financial operations and data analytics functions within a company.
- Financial expert as well as a data-driven decision-maker.
- Highly analytical problem solver (can't make a decision without data / facts).
- Extremely effective communication skills in the role, specifically the ability to present complex financial information and insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Able to give our Executives leverage on the day to day of goals management.
- Great financial modeling and prioritization skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Tableau in order to create reports and forecasts.
- Ability to create strategic planning behind finances.
- Ability to build dashboards.
- Able to manage direct reports.
- Likes to get their hands dirty and fix things.

The salary for this role is $150,000 - $250,000 annually depending on experience.
