Technical Product Owner
What does a successful Technical Product Owner do at Fiserv?
The growth of real-time payments has been exponential in the past several years, accelerated by the COVID19 pandemic. Consumers and businesses have been increasingly demanding instant payments and Financial Institutions (FIs) have been left asking: how do we quickly upgrade our offerings to include real time payments?
NOW® by Fiserv is the real-time infrastructure that will answer the call for real time payments. The NOW network and gateway provides the connection point to a network of financial institutions, billers, small businesses, and consumers that enables real time exchange of money and information. NOW is the underlying platform for processing real-time payments for all digital and bill payment products and is a critical component of Fiserv’s overall enterprise payment strategy.

What you will do:
Works with other product managers to translate higher-level business requirements into feature and story level solution design requirements and acceptance criteria.
Builds and owns a product backlog to adapt, launch and scale product.
Leads the delivery team to execute critical roadmap items.
Acts as a bridge, mediator and negotiator that ensures product and delivery teams collaborate effectively with one another to yield the best possible outcomes.
Simplifies complex problems and issues in an easy to understand manner.
Seeks to understand technical matters outside personal area of expertise and synthesize for broader discussion.
What you will need to have:
BS in a technical field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of related professional work experience in software (for example, roles as product owner, or product manager)
5+ years’ experience creating customer facing products, ideally in high-growth environments
Experience working very closely with engineers
What would be nice to have:
Background in development
4+ years’ experience managing backlogs or prioritizing requirements for development teams
5+ years demonstrated experience in the Software Development Life Cycle
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and be central in the delivery of software within a product management capacity
Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment and ability to deliver
Minimum 2 years of payment industry or fintech experience
Experience working in a startup in hyper growth model
Experience successfully launching a business or product in a new market or founding a company
Experience building any of the following: App Store, Marketplace, Developer Portal, API or equivalent
Open Banking experience
This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, New York or Washington.
