The DFPS Strategic Initiatives Program Specialist VII is part of a team of problem solvers helping to shape the agency’s direction. Team members will help develop solutions to complex issues from strategy to execution by coordinating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to create plans to achieve DFPS goals. The Strategic Initiatives Program Specialist performs highly advanced (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance on DFPS projects and initiatives. Work involves planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing major agency program(s) and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, government agencies, community organizations, or the general public on strategic improvement projects. The ideal candidate has experience working in a collaborative environment to develop, create, and execute initiatives and/or system changes in protective and/or human services. The Strategic Initiatives Program Specialist must be someone with strong strategic thinking abilities, analytical skills, organizational and leadership qualities, research skills, and outstanding communication skills. The Strategic Initiatives Program Specialist works under the direction of the Strategic Initiatives Director for DPFS and may serve as a lead worker providing direction to others. This position works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
