About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Lead SRE/DevOps Engineer to drive infrastructure reliability, scalability, and operational excellence across our organization. The ideal candidate will balance technical depth with leadership skills to build and maintain resilient systems that power our critical services, with particular emphasis on managing complex stateful workloads.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code approaches (Terraform)
2. Architect and maintain Kubernetes clusters and container ecosystems across cloud and isolated environments
3. Design and implement robust solutions for stateful workloads, ensuring data persistence, high availability, and disaster recovery
4. Establish metrics-driven SLOs/SLIs and implement comprehensive observability solutions
5. Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines that enable fast, reliable software delivery
6. Drive incident response processes, including on-call rotations, post-mortems, and continuous improvement
7. Develop automation strategies for infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and maintenance
8. Mentor and develop team members while fostering a culture of knowledge sharing
9. Collaborate with development teams to improve application reliability and performance

Required Skills & Experience

1. 5+ years of experience in DevOps/SRE roles with proven track record of improving system reliability
2. Strong expertise with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and related ecosystem tools
3. Experience managing stateful applications in containerized environments (StatefulSets, operators, persistent volumes)
4. Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools, particularly Terraform
5. Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines
6. Solid understanding of publish-subscribe messaging systems and patterns
7. Experience with ingress technologies and networking concepts
8. Demonstrated ability to support both cloud-connected and isolated/air-gapped environments
9. Data-driven approach to problem-solving and system optimization
10. Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience leading and mentoring other engineers
2. Deep knowledge of database systems (relational and NoSQL) and their operational requirements
3. Experience with database replication, sharding, and high-availability configurations
4. Experience implementing and managing storage solutions for containerized environments
5. Strong background in managing data-intensive applications and ensuring data integrity
6. Experience implementing and managing observability stacks (metrics, logging, tracing)
7. Strong incident response background with emphasis on blameless postmortems
8. Experience with multiple cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
9. Knowledge of security best practices for infrastructure and applications
10. Relevant certifications (CKA, AWS, Azure, etc.)
