TypeScript Developer (Backend or Fullstack) - Remote (US & LATAM Candidates)
We are seeking an experienced TypeScript Developer based in the U.S. or Latin America for a full-time contract opportunity. This is a 100% remote role with flexibility to overlap U.S. Central Time (CT) hours.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable applications using TypeScript across the backend (Node.js, Express, NestJS) and optionally the frontend (React).
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and QA to deliver high-quality user experiences.
- Build and consume RESTful and GraphQL APIs; integrate with third-party services and internal microservices.
- Implement secure, high-performance solutions on AWS using services like Lambda, API Gateway, RDS/DynamoDB, and S3.
- Apply modern CI/CD practices using tools like GitHub Actions, Docker, and Terraform.
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code using TypeScript and testing frameworks like Jest or Cypress.
- Participate in agile ceremonies (Scrum or Kanban), contribute to technical discussions, and perform code reviews.
- Continuously improve application performance, scalability, and security posture.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with TypeScript, including frameworks like Node.js, Express, or NestJS.
- (Optional) Experience with React, Hooks, and state management tools like Redux or Zustand.
- Proficiency in database design with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or DynamoDB.
- Comfortable working with cloud-native solutions on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, CloudWatch).
- Familiarity with DevOps tooling, Git workflows, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles (SOLID, Clean Code, design patterns).
- Good communication skills and proven ability to collaborate effectively in remote environments.
Bonus
- Experience with serverless architecture and event-driven systems.
- Exposure to authentication systems (OAuth2, JWT, Cognito) and best practices for securing web apps.
- Familiarity with microservices and messaging queues (SQS, Kafka, or similar).
- Experience with Next.js, Prisma, or other modern frameworks and ORMs.
- Knowledge of observability tools (Datadog, ELK, Prometheus, etc.).
