The Position: Performs the role of Software Developer (Senior), Airborne Strategic Command, Control and Communications Program Office's (PMA-271) mission is to deliver and support survivable, reliable, and endurable airborne command, control, and communications for the president, secretary of defense, and U.S. Strategic Command. The program's vision is to provide national security and deterrence through assured airborne strategic communications.

The Description:

  • Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs.
  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
  • Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. Work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements.
  • Maintain databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
  • Responsible for overseeing the efforts of less senior staff assigned to a specific job/project. Ensure project procedures and controls are followed, manage manning and staffing project efforts and lead problem resolution efforts. Interfaces with system or program Contractors, vendors and Government representatives regarding the technical aspects of programs/projects.

Education and Experience:

  • At least ten (10) years of software development experience, performing software requirements analysis, software design, software coding, software integration in a corporate or governmental Software Development Environment.
  • BS/BA in a Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering. (Degree required, an associate's degree and additional years of experience cannot be substituted for a Bachelor's degree).
  • An Active DoD Secret clearance

The Working Environment: The physical environment is ONSITE. On some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, travel may be required.

For all positions requiring access to technology/software source code that is subject to export control laws, employment with the company is contingent on either verifying U.S.-person status or obtaining any necessary license.
