WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Social Media Strategist - Full-time, remote or onsite (Dallas, TX)
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
At A21, our global Marketing and Communications Team is comprised of highly skilled, passionate, and innovative individuals. We’re searching for a qualified Social Media Specialist to join our Marketing & Communication department in a full-time, short-term capacity. In this role, you’ll be responsible for implementing and developing digital marketing strategies, building meaningful engagement with our supporters, and bringing our mission to life through a variety of audiences and channels. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for implementing a comprehensive social media strategy to increase our web traffic and brand awareness through platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin and more. Excellent writing skills and experience in outworking strategy and content is key. We’re looking for someone who is creative, innovative, and passionate about the work of A21 who can adapt within a fast-paced environment
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY DUTIES:
CONTENT/STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT
- Administrate the creation and publishing of relevant, high-quality content that builds meaningful engagement through various digital platforms.

- Intentionally develop structures and pathways to be constantly updated with the operations of the organization in order to communicate authentically and effectively.
- Build and execute a social media strategy based on proven research that aligns with defined goals.
- Copy development coordinated with contracted copywriters and implemented into designs.
- Plan specific, timely promotion campaigns.
- Liaise with writers and designers to ensure content is informative, on-brand, and effective in accomplishing our overall marketing goals.
- Bring creative content ideas and suggestions to the table.
- Develop basic design, video, and motion skills through the aid of accessible applications to holistically support content across A21 channels.
- Prepare content with the global social media team in mind, respecting translations and country-specific context.
- Oversee social media accounts: design, publishing schedule, and keep them up to date
- Work closely with our Founder’s social media team to ensure crossover content happens in a timely and effective manner.
- Suggest and implement new ideas to develop a more effective strategy.
- Train international teams to integrate and maintain a cohesive social media strategy.
- Analyze trends and the communication work of other experienced NGO’s to constantly envision new ways to operate and improve.
AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT
- Communicate, support, and correspond with followers in a timely manner.
- Keep a pulse on the needs and preferences of followers to determine if the strategy needs to be adjusted.
- Regularly communicate insights gained from follower engagement to the rest of the A21 marketing and communications team.
REPORTING & RESEARCH
- Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences.
- Establish measurable performance and growth goals for each social media platform.
- Establish practices to evaluate and measure the effectiveness of a defined social media strategy.
- Continuously improve social media impact by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social media metrics and insights and then implementing the information.
- Regularly monitor the performance of each social media platform in light of established goals and strategy.
- Regularly optimize social media pages on each platform to ensure maximum visibility and effectiveness of content.
- Stay up-to-date with new changes and trends in all social platforms.
- Suggest creative ways to increase social media platform growth.
- Submit regular weekly reports on overall social media effectiveness, impact, and growth.

- Demonstrated ability to use technology, including Word documents, Google platform, Project Management tools and more.
- Very strong, above-average interpersonal and professional communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking.
- Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to practice a high degree of integrity and maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work across organizational and geographical boundaries.
- Ability to think strategically, analytically, and systematically.
- Excellent copywriting skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to grasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively.
- Uphold, safeguard and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, integrity, and corporate social responsibility.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Proven work experience as a Social media strategist or Social Media Manager with 3+ years of experience (experience with NGOs or start-ups is a plus).
- An undergraduate degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media, or Publications is preferred.
