This entry-level position plays a vital role in supporting the DuPage CVB’s overall marketing and communications efforts. While the position has a strong focus on executing social media strategies — including organic content creation, paid social coordination, influencer partnerships, and engagement monitoring — it also provides essential support across the broader marketing function. These responsibilities include assisting with website maintenance, email marketing communications, graphic design, state tourism database updates, content proofing, and media library management. The role also supports the execution of the annual marketing plan in coordination with bureau leadership, contractors, and the broader team. This is a hands-on, collaborative role ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, creative, and eager to contribute to a wide range of marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities
Social Media & Influencer Marketing
- Create and manage organic content calendars for all active platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Coordinate with paid social media agency to support and align campaign efforts
- Monitor all platforms for engagement opportunities, community interaction, and trends
- Track, analyze, and report on social media performance and key metrics
- Support with influencer outreach, communications, and deliverables
- Ensure all content aligns with DuPage CVB’s brand voice and messaging priorities, reflecting the personality and positioning of the destination
Marketing & Communications Support
- Assist with ongoing updates to the DuPage CVB website
- Support monthly email marketing communications (e.g., eblasts), including drafting, editing, and scheduling
- Provide graphic design assistance across digital and print platforms (Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite preferred)
- Help maintain internal content management tools including: State tourism database (listing updates and image uploads) and Media library (organizing and tagging assets for internal and external use)
- Track and maintain a detailed log of member exposure across all marketing channels to support regular ROI reporting and demonstrate membership value
- Proofread marketing copy and collateral for accuracy, clarity, and brand consistency
- Work with bureau leadership to coordinate staff and contractors in executing strategies and tactics within the annual marketing plan
- Collaborate regularly with internal departments including sales, partnerships, and membership to ensure marketing efforts align with organizational goals
- Attend DuPage CVB and member events when requested and appropriate, such as grand openings, hotel events, and open houses
- Provide general support to the marketing, membership/partnership, and sales team for all other duties as assigned by manager
Skills Required
- Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok)
- Experience with tools such as Meta Business Suite, Canva, Sprout Social, Google Analytics, or Constant Contact is a plus • Strong written and visual communication skills
- Basic knowledge of graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills
- Proactive and collaborative mindset
- Comfortable with data entry, reporting, and light administrative tasks
- Knowledge of website CMS (such as WordPress) is a plus
Education and Background Required
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field preferred
- 0–2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related internship role
- Familiarity with the tourism industry and/or DuPage County is a plus
- Must have car, current insurance, and valid driver’s license
