Job Summary
The Social Media and Content Marketing Specialist plays a pivotal role in developing and executing a dynamic social media strategy to promote SCU's programs and engage our community.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Develop a highly engaging social media strategy that highlights SCU's programs and students on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
Develops and executes innovative, creative ways to engage and educate faculty/staff about university news, events, and other information in coordination with the overall communications strategy.
Manages the monthly content calendar, including managing all content scheduling and publishing across all social media channels.
Benchmarks competitors to understand how higher education social marketing is evolving and provides actionable insights and recommendations.
Identifies the latest trends and tools in social marketing to increase brand visibility. Creates timely, and relevant content topics based on keyword research and trending news.
Communicates with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong social network.
Creates graphics, digital assets, and video content including student testimonials and YouTube videos to share on social media and the SCU website.
Manages the reporting for all social media channels and continually refines and improves content based on feedback and analytics.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Other Skills Required
Demonstrated proficiency in social media marketing with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience.
Actively engaged on various social media platforms, showcasing a genuine enthusiasm for experiential and digital marketing.
Expertise in operating DSLR cameras for high-quality photo and video production and a demonstrated mastery of industry-standard editing software.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva for dynamic and visually appealing content creation.
Comfortable navigating Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Education And/Or Experience
Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Attendance
Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks, where applicable.
JOB LOCATION:
This Position Requires As Needed Onsite Support And/or Attendance To Meet The Essential Functions Of The Job. Onsite Activities May Include But Are Not Limited To The Following
Photograph and record SCU events including Orientation, White Coat, Commencement, etc.
Film video content including student testimonials and YouTube videos to share on social media and the SCU website.
