Social Media Community Manager

 

The Sage Group’s client, an innovative tech company owned by one of the largest tech companies in the world, is seeking a Social Community Manager to partner with the full Social crisis team to keep processes up to date while identifying brand risk. This person will work cross-functionally and with executive stakeholders assessing trends, determining audience perceptions, and identifying real-time issues and opportunities using social media analytics to advise marketing and business decisions.

 

It is important that you have experience analyzing social data, can work with large social data sets, can translate this data into clear recommendations on when/how to respond, and have a finger on the pulse of social conversation.

 

This is a multi-disciplinary role that requires an individual who is comfortable wearing hats that range from strategic thinker to social analyst. An ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is curious about how culture is constantly changing, and understands how that plays out on social networks. The ideal work shift would be basic business hours, Sunday-Thursday but this is flexible.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead crisis management, working with a rotating on-call team of other Social members and managing a roster of agencies supporting
  • Work with the Social Rapid Response manager during the week to handle escalations and crises, update the team’s crisis processes, and research
  • Lead the rapid identification, data gathering, assessment, and recommendation of opportunities, alerting relevant stakeholders in a complex global organization
  • Assess incoming brand opportunities on social and provides a communications strategy recommendation on when/how to respond
  • Understand multiple data points and perspectives from across the organization to inform decisions
  • In conjunction with other social leads, make a marketing strategy and business recommendations (e.g., cost-benefit, forecasting, experiment analysis) with effective presentation of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders.
  • Work with large, complex social and digital data sets; solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed. Conduct end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5-6 years of experience in social analytics or intelligence, social listening or social crisis management
  • Ability to communicate complex information in complete but simple terms to a higher level of audiences for escalations, primarily executives.
  • Ability to write complex queries.
  • Experience using Brandwatch is required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong writing skills
  • Mature judgment in complex and fast-paced situations
  • Curiosity to understand issues and the motivation to drive resolution
  • Well-versed in story-based reporting (on paper and in person): not coughing out facts and figures, but rather thoughtfully and holistically creates reports that address large strategic business questions with a data-based narrative.
  • Experience with tools and data sets like Crimson Hexagon, ZignalLabs, Sysomos, Sprinklr, SimilarWeb, Netbase, Quintly

Full time, 40 hours per week Sun-Thurs ideal schedule but flexible

Fully remote, EST highly preferred, basic business hours

1 year project with likelihood of extension

Pay rate: $70-75 per hour
