Summary:
The Senior Email Deliverability Specialist is responsible for ensuring our email marketing campaigns reach our subscribers' inboxes successfully. This role involves a deep understanding of email deliverability best practices, email authentication protocols, and the ability to analyze data and troubleshoot issues that affect email delivery rates.
Main responsibilities:
Monitor and Optimize Deliverability:
Track and analyze email delivery, open, and bounce rates across various email service providers (ESPs) and internet service providers (ISPs).
Identify and troubleshoot issues that impact email deliverability, such as spam filters, blacklists, and authentication problems.
Implement strategies to improve sender reputation and increase inbox placement rates.
Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices related to email deliverability.
Email Authentication and Infrastructure:
Manage and configure email authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) to ensure proper sender identification and prevent email spoofing.
Collaborate with IT and development teams to optimize email infrastructure and sending practices.
Monitor and address any issues related to IP reputation and domain health.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Utilize email marketing analytics tools to generate reports on email deliverability performance.
Provide insights and recommendations to the marketing team based on data analysis.
Work with the marketing team to develop and implement A/B testing strategies to optimize email campaigns.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with the email marketing team to ensure campaigns are designed and executed with deliverability in mind.
Collaborate with ESPs and other vendors to resolve any deliverability issues and maintain positive relationships.
Communicate deliverability best practices and findings to the marketing team and other stakeholders.
Required Experience:
5+ years of experience in email marketing or a related field.
Proven track record of improving email deliverability and inbox placement rates.
Strong understanding of email authentication protocols and deliverability best practices.
Experience with email deployment platforms such as Ongage, Sendgrid, Sparkpost, etc.
Experience with email marketing analytics tools and data analysis.
Skills:
Excellent analyticaland problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Familiarity with HTML and CSS is a plus.
Bonus Experience:
A bachelors degree in computer science, digital marketing or equivalent
Scripting programming languages such as Bash or Python
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience
