We are looking for a skilled writer to help produce copy and other written content. The writer will be responsible for writing copy across the app's "Learn" surfaces. The purpose of Learn content is to educate new, potential, and existing Express app users about design, digital content creation, content marketing, and more. Our team aims to attract new users to theapp, as well as keep existing users engaged with the product. The person who fills this role will play a big part in achieving these goals.
This is a full-time contract position.

You probably have experience with various kinds of content writing: blog posts and landing pages, e-books, white papers, marketing copy, journalism, podcasts, downloadable guides, e-learning courses, and video scripts, to name a few. You seek to educate and inform in equal measure. You are a real person who creates things for other real people, with a high taste level and some wit. You're a great, punchy writer. You're constantly curious and your first impulse is to start asking questions when you encounter something you don't understand. You finish projects. You're willing to be held to very high standards. You're a good communicator and a great problem solver. You are flexible in your approaches to writing and publication. You know how to communicate with a diverse set of teams and individuals.
Responsibilities
Write longform blog content based on SEO team's keyword research, targets, and strategy.
Curate and write blog posts featuring design templates based on keyword research, design trends, and designer spotlights.
Write scripts for tutorials, online courses, and other Learn video content.
Balance our strategic goals with fast-paced timelines and shifting priorities.
Uphold crisp and consistent grammar, voice, and tone.
Expert in the AP Style Guide.
Help manage and maintain the Blog and Learn editorial calendars.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
2-3+ years' experience in a copywriting, content writing, creative strategy, content strategy, or editorial role.
Relevant experience creating similar kinds of content for online publications, brands, and/or
apps.
You can write. Not just arrange words on a page - really write in a compelling way that shows the human side of the Express brand.
Basic knowledge of SEO principals and willingness to become an expert in SEO content
writing.
Experience taking feedback and influencing stakeholders on content that impacts many
different teams.
Experience simultaneously managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
Experience taking feedback and working in an iterative process against tight timelines.
Experience working in and publishing via content management systems.
Qualifications
You have experience in graphic design either through academic coursework, self-taught, or professional experience.
You are experienced in content marketing and could produce well-informed and researched thought leadership on the field.
Familiarity with DIY digital content creation using apps (e.g. Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc) or competitors.
