ampton North is partnering with an early-stage, high-growth cybersecurity startup to hire a Senior Software Engineer (Data). They're building an AI-driven platform that autonomously identifies and investigates security threats across complex environments.

Compensation: $220,000 base + Equity

Location: Remote (US) or Hybrid (Boston)

Logistics: Must be a U.S. citizen due to client requirements. No Third Parties

As a Senior Software Engineer (Data), you’ll own core data systems that power the platform. You’ll work across ingestion, transformation, and search layers, handling large-scale, messy datasets and turning them into structured, high-quality data that drives detection and analysis.

This is a highly impactful role working on systems ingesting terabytes of data daily, ideal for engineers who enjoy building scalable infrastructure and solving complex data challenges.

What you'll be doing:

1. Build and scale data pipelines processing large volumes of security telemetry
2. Own integrations across diverse data sources (cloud, identity, SaaS, endpoint)
3. Design transformation layers to normalize and enrich data
4. Develop systems to correlate entities across datasets
5. Work on real-time and batch processing systems
6. Build and optimize search capabilities over large datasets
7. Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to shape data architecture
8. Contribute to overall platform design and technical direction

And what you'll need to have:

1. 4+ years building backend or distributed systems with strong data focus
2. Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, Rust, or similar
3. Experience with AWS or GCP
4. Strong background in data pipelines and event-driven systems
5. Solid understanding of system design, data modeling, and performance tradeoffs
6. Experience with OLAP or analytical databases
7. Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment
8. Experience with streaming systems (e.g. Flink)
9. Experience building search systems at scale
10. Cybersecurity or startup experience
